At the Essex Counselling Service, experienced, qualified and BACP-registered counsellors support young people with a wide range of concerns, including (but not limited to) self-esteem, anxiety, depression, attachment issues, mental health concerns, phobias, anger and aggression, family breakdown, sexual abuse, parental substance misuse issues, sexuality and cultural issues.

Our integrative and person-centred focus ensures we work flexibly as well as relentlessly, with Catch22 counsellors doing whatever it takes to sustain engagement in the counselling process and to support children and young people's engagement in their education.

A thorough assessment and review process is completed for every participant in the Essex Counselling Service. Individual needs and distance travelled are ascertained through these reviews.

Referrals are only accepted for young people attending the Essex Counselling Service's commissioner schools, academies and colleges.

Every Child Needs a Mentor (ECNM) was founded in 2009 by entrepreneur and award-winning mentor Herman Stewart. ECNM was created to ensure high-quality mentoring reaches every child—regardless of their background or abilities. Whether you’re a parent, school or an organisation working with young people, we are confident that we can help you with your children’s well-being and mental health. With our track record of successfully supporting young people, we know our methods work. But that’s not all; we’ve developed an award-winning mentorship framework, delivered both in-person and online.

We work with children aged between 9 – 18 from various backgrounds and ethnicities. Our work has been highly regarded by school leaders, parents & young people. Ofsted has recognised our work as a ‘high-quality provision for mentoring’. We have had many success stories and testimonials, working with young people that other services were incapable of engaging or supporting. Therefore, we are confident that our person-centred methodology will achieve results with young people who access our mentoring support.

We are a charitable organisation whose mission is to prevent interpersonal violence, in particular domestic violence and abuse.  Our core activity is working with perpetrators to address the root causes of this.  We also provide advice, support and counselling to survivors of domestic abuse and violence.

Everyman Project is a counselling service. We are an organisational member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). We work both with individuals needing support and with public sector agencies who make referrals to us or wish to develop joint services.

Our main focus is working with male perpetrators of domestic abuse and violence.

For male perpetrators, we have developed a two-stage model based on principles of counselling. This is a 30-week programme which starts with a suitability assessment, followed by 13 weeks of one to one counselling and then 16 weeks of group counselling.  We help break into the cycle of abuse and violence by challenging and supporting perpetrators to take responsibility for their actions and stop altogether their abusive, angry and violent behaviours.

Families Anonymous in the UK first started in London in 1980. It is a world-wide fellowship of family members and friends affected by another's abuse of mind-altering substances, or related behavioural problems. FA has groups, spread throughout the country, which meet regularly. Any concerned person is encouraged to attend the meetings, even if there is only a suspicion of a problem. The Fellowship is a self-help organisation with a programme based on the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions first formulated by Alcoholics Anonymous.

There are now some 50 groups in various parts of the country.

The aim of the group is to help the family and friends of people with a current, suspected or former drug problem by providing mutual support and to offer a forum where experiences and anxieties can be shared. In the group members learn to come to terms with the problem that is disrupting their lives. Attending meetings helps members adopt an honest and consistent approach towards the addict. This in turn often brings him/her to realise that he/she needs help to live without drugs. Experience has shown that help for the family and friends means important help for the drug-dependent person.

Family pressures can sometimes be difficult to manage without emotional support and guidance to help. Many people feel confused by what information is available or struggle to access services close to home.

Our free FamilyLine service tackles these issues in a new and innovative way by using a network of volunteers from across the country to support family members over the age of 18 through telephone calls, email, web chat and text message.

The service aims to:

• provide both immediate and long-term support
• help with practical information and guidance
• provide emotional and listening support
• help with understanding and accessing relevant services and information
• provide regular one-to-one befriending support to service users feeling isolated
• access to short term telephone counselling
• a referral into our many projects across England and Wales, where relevant.

We use a team of trained volunteers with the knowledge and experience of family issues to support service users via telephone, text, web chat and email.

We are here to provide a listening ear, answer particular parenting questions or help with guidance around more complex family issues. We can also provide longer-term support through regular sessions with our Befrienders and Counsellors. All support takes place via telephone, text message, web chat or email and is free.

Family Lives was formally registered as a charity in 1999, and operated under the name of Parentline Plus. The charity's original formation as Parentline was founded in response to the tragic child abuse case of Maria Colwell in 1973, who was killed by her step-father. The parents that founded Parentline believed that there needed to be a dedicated organisation supporting parents, before they reached crisis point which could result in abuse. A merger in 1999 between the National Stepfamilies Association, Parentline and Parent Network built on the collective experience of these three charities, to provide a range of national and local services to support parents and families across the country.

Our vision is a society in which women and girls in all their diversity are equal and truly free to fulfil their potential creating a stronger, happier, better future for us all. We’ve been advancing women’s equality since 1866 when at just 19, Millicent Fawcett collected signatures on a petition for women’s votes. She went on to lead the constitutional suffrage campaign and made this cause her lifetime’s work, securing equal voting rights 62 years later. Today we continue her legacy of fighting sexism and gender inequality through hard-hitting research. Our national campaigns shape the debate and drive change - and they are only made possible through the support of our members.”

Fegans provides professional therapeutic services to primary and secondary schools throughout England.

Affordable, accessible and effective support for children, parents and school staff.

Most schools are struggling with issues such as extreme anxiety, exclusion, behavioural challenges, self-harm, eating disorders, depression or children who have simply withdrawn into themselves. Often schools struggle to find solutions for children who are facing these issues within the context of the normal school routine.

Fegans can be that solution.

We can provide qualified psychotherapists at reasonably short notice to work within a school and address some of those issues that can be so challenging for schools to resolve.

We use sport and physical activity as the tool and catalyst for positive change, with impact on the young person occurring through every one of our 5 stages. They have recently been awarded £30,000 for their Fight for Peace primary violence prevention program to deliver sports and personal development to young people from communities affected by crime and violence. This project aims to assist young people with a history of or at risk of involvement in gangs, violence and knife crime to become more integrated into their communities and mainstream society through regular participation in pro-social programs. “Fight for Peace uses boxing and martial arts combined with education and personal development to realise the potential of young people.

Fight for Peace supports young people in communities affected by crime and violence by creating new opportunities for them and supporting them to make the most of existing opportunities.

In addition to providing new opportunities, our Theory of Change is based on the assumption that a young person’s behaviour, situation and the choices they make, are dependent on the way they see themselves, how they relate to others, and how they see their future. Fight for Peace creates an enabling environment within which this personal growth and development can take place through our five pillars methodology and by living our values.”

We are a trans-led and trans-involving grassroots organisation with a wealth of lived experience, community connections of many kinds, and a depth and breadth of trans community knowledge that is second to none. We believe everyone can be intelligent about gender! There are multiple strands to our work. For more information about who we are go to our about us section or see below.

Gendered Intelligence run trans youth groups in London, Leeds and online for a range of ages from 7 to 30. We also run groups specifically for young trans people of colour and transfeminine young people, as well as extra projects such as a swimming group, Nature Connections and Youth Board.

Our youth groups are open to all young trans people, no matter how you identify or whether you are questioning your gender. We use trans as an umbrealla term and are fully inclusive of non-binary individuals; please don't worry about not feeling 'trans enough'.

There is no fee to access our youth groups. We can reimburse travel for at least £7 per person at every session if the cost of travel would prevent you from getting to the groups.

At the youth groups you can:

• Meet other young trans, transgender, non-binary or gender questioning people, socialise, make friends, have fun and get some support
• Find out information about coming out / disclosing, transitioning, your rights as a trans child, teenager or young adult, how to negotiate life post-transition, and more
• Have a safe and supportive space to explore your gender identity if you're questioning, be yourself if you're not out, or have an opportunity to chat about trans stuff.

We're a Charitable Social Enterprise owned by our staff and founded on our purpose and values to provide a different, fairer and better way of doing business. Our purpose is to improve the physical, mental and social wellbeing of local communities.

As the UK's leading provider of both Leisure Centres and Libraries we operate over 400 locations all helping to make a real difference to local communities and local people.

Every penny that GLL makes is reinvested back into the business to support our social purpose.

In 1993, Greenwich Council needed to find a new way to run its leisure centres because of public spending cuts and together, we came up with a new model. The first of its kind in UK leisure. GLL was born.

Seven centres were transferred to us, and success quickly followed. We created jobs and added new services to existing leisure centres. Since then, we've built lots of new facilities in the UK and our membership has gone from about 7,000 to more than 850,000 with 58 million visitors a year.

In 1996, we began expanding outside Greenwich and now run all kinds of community services and spaces across the UK - from Belfast to Bromley, Carlisle to Cardiff.

What do we do?

We exist to make community services and spaces better for everyone. That means providing affordable access to quality community leisure and fitness facilities. We manage more than 270 public sport and leisure centres, 113 libraries in partnership with 50 local councils, public agencies and sporting organisations.

Where are we heading?

GLL is now almost 29 years old and we're as excited about the future today, as we were back in 1993.

At GLL we don't just run Leisure Centres, Swimming Pools or Lido's or Gyms, we provide for the whole community running Libraries, Theatre's, Children's Centres, Playgrounds, Nurseries and so much more. All of which we run in our charitable, community focused way.

We believe our values and purpose have never been more relevant and hope we can continue to make a difference in as many communities as possible across the UK.

We are providing professionals with training to understand and be more aware of gang culture and associated behaviours.

At Catch22 we understand the challenges faced by gang-involved young people and their families. Our work targets and builds on service users' strengths to prevent individuals becoming involved in gangs and help support those involved to safely exit.

Our extensive experience has afforded us with the expertise to support and develop professionals to effectively engage this cohort, maximising outcomes achieved. Using this experience, we have developed a full-day training session for professionals.

Our full-day training session is 6 hours and can be delivered online or face-to-face.

Our full-day training session for professionals covers for example gang culture, serious youth violence and associated behaviours,
gang activity within the community, how to recognise key warning signs, and much more.

Founded by Sheldon Thomas, Gangsline is a non-profit organisation established in 2007 to provide help and support to young men and women involved in gang culture.  We work with individuals from the deprived parts of our communities and with deeply entrenched social, educational, spiritual and family issues.  Central to our ethos and success is a proactive, spiritual and non-enforcement led approach to gangs, and the gang violence embedded in our local communities.

Gangsline’s beginning came as a result of receiving a small funding grant to support individuals and families who were fearful about the involvement of people they knew in gangs. Since then Gangsline has expanded from an information and advice service to a highly successful and respected outreach and mentoring service, under the name Targeted Against Gangs (TAG).

Today Gangsline delivers its unique services by providing a proactive and reactive approach that offers support and exit strategies to young men and women involved in gangs, and an effective prevention service to young people on the peripheries of gang activity. Our specialist outreach response team – all of whom are ex-gang members themselves – are uniquely placed to access and work alongside even the most high risk gang leaders and members.

Since its inception Gangsline has effectively addressed the root causes of why young people turn to the ‘comfort’ that gang membership provides. These reasons may be incomprehensible to mainstream society, but issues such as family breakdown, anger, the consequences of societal rejection, emotional hurt, unresolved conflict, a (missing) sense of belonging, the dangers of the disillusioned and the despair of struggling parents and absent fathers have all had a massive contribution to the choices made by many of our socially excluded young people. In response to the presented issues, Gangsline has a no holds barred approach that focuses on notions of responsibility, morality, positive thinking, anger management, self- belief, leadership, success and purpose.

We make maps that help direct aid.

We have a passion and vision to inspire and support long-term sustainable development by mapping the gaps in self-empowering opportunities for people at the ground level, so that international donors, development NGOs and government agencies can clearly see where they need to put their energies.

Global MapAid or simply "MapAid" is a social enterprise working with local people, to help them identify & map local solutions (hotspots) for their development, to help prevent disasters. The maps benefit policy makers, donors, non-government organisations and corporate social responsibility organisations, by focusing efforts where most needed. Additionally, some of our maps are designed for use by vulnerable people.

Our vision is a world where local communities can easily share their skills, expertise and time with each other - without intermediaries, silos or middle men. Among our many project we

• Have created a community service in Southwark which supported 447 unemployed local residents into jobs in the Shard

• Are collaborating with business networks to build a hyper-local labour market for the South Bank

We use tech to connect people (and their skills, abilities and interests), with opportunities around them.

Our matching tech can be used to connect volunteers with opportunities to support their community, build flexible labour markets to connect people with good part-time work, or digitally enable the service delivery of charities or local authorities.

We work with a variety of public and private partners - from NHS Trusts, Local Authorities and foundations, to corporates and business networks.

But what underpins all of our work is a desire to enable everyone to thrive, by better connecting people with good opportunities.

We believe in empowering individuals and communities to be a force for good. But what unites all of our work is a belief in the transformative power of community - and the opportunity to connect government, employers and individuals to build it.

Good People has many corporate partners listed on the website.

Growing Against Violence (GAV) is a charity that aims to protect young people against peer-to-peer violence and exploitation both on the streets and online. The charity grew out of a partnership with London's Metropolitan Police Service and since 2008 GAV has delivered workshops to over 197,000 young people in over 940 schools.

GAV sees violence as a disease that is preventable rather than inevitable and examines the causes of violence using a listening and investigative approach that teases out issues specific to local communities. The charity follows the World Health Organisation's 'public health approach to tackling violence', using data to identify risk factors for violence and the delivery of evidence-based violence prevention workshops.

The Board and Senior Management have personal and professional expertise in violence prevention. This unique partnership brings together senior professionals from health, law, policing, academia, accounting, IT and the private sector to provide effective governance and enable the charity to thrive and expand.

Hackney Quest was started by a small team in 1988 to provide positive activities for the community’s young people. A Borough which suffers significant deprivation, Hackney has always had a large number of young people in need of positive engagement, to help them to develop skills and reach their potential. Young people have remained at the core of what we do, but through the years we have broadened our activities in recognition of wider needs in the community. Young people can only flourish when their parents and carers are well supported, and everyone benefits from living in a strong, unified community. It is with this in mind that we have developed our community services, including parenting and nutrition classes, education support, confidential listening and signposting, and community volunteering. Many of our community activities take place in the Frampton Park Youth & Family Centre, which we have run as a second centre since 2012. Thanks to the long term commitment of our staff, the variety of services that we offer, and the all-through support that we provide, we have a uniquely warm family atmosphere. All our staff, volunteers and beneficiaries are part of a strong, tight-knit, caring community. Despite the many changes that Hackney has gone through over the course of Hackney Quest’s 28-year history, poverty and deprivation remain major issues: the area surrounding Hackney Quest remains in the top 10% most deprived areas of the country. Many other problems, such as crime and educational disadvantage, stem from this. Through all of our programmes and activities, we remain dedicated to helping the young people and families in our community overcome these challenges in order to reach their full potential.

The 'Hope Collective' is a partnership cohort of organisations who share a passion to provide our young people with ambition, opportunity, something to aspire to... a hope for a better and brighter future. We aim to engage with young people the length and breadth of the United Kingdom and provide them with a voice and a platform to assist them to realise their dreams and their goals. A UK wide societal public health approach to safeguarding and nurturing young people. Sadly, we see plenty of evidence of what happens when young people are not given these opportunities, when the concrete and steel of inner cities and a daily struggle to survive is what they face... a life bereft of hope.

As a society, we tend to focus on the negative image of our next generation, whereas, in reality, our young people are worth so much more. We believe that, if they are given a platform and the correct level of support, they can set an agenda that transforms lives and the world in which they live. The Hope Collective believes that the levelling up discussion taking place within the adult establishment, needs to have young people front and centre of the discussion. The more we see equal opportunity for all young people, the fairer society we will become.

We started in 2021 with that agenda, to 'change the conversation', to be more positive about young people's ability to effect change and to listen to what they think and what they say. Report after report into the problems impacting young people highlighted the fact that poverty and inequality was the problem. Symptoms such as knife crime manifested, showing how important it was to reframe the narrative. The narrative had just stayed the same! Working with the newly established network of Violence Reduction Units (VRU's) across the UK, we engaged with our numerous partner organisations – the National Citizen Service, UK Youth, Youthlink Scotland, the Coop, Rio Ferdinand Foundation, Onside Youth Zones, Tigers, 2020 Change, Spirit of London Awards Foundation, Professional Footballers Association (PFA), NHS, YMCA Wales, Oasis Youth and many more – to put together a pilot series of Hope Hack events at which young people could attend and discuss the issues impacted by poverty and inequality.

These took place in London, Greater Manchester, Belfast, Glasgow and Cardiff and our young people responded in numbers to provide their views on issues such as: POVERTY AND INEQUALITY/MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH /RACISM AND DIVISION /THE ENVIRONMENT AND HOUSING/EMPLOYMENT AND EDUCATION

Hope Street has been created to help break the stigma attached to those suffering from poor mental health, particularly anxiety and depression.

Hope Street is a place dedicated to helping others feel valued, inspired and most importantly accepted. From personal experience the founders of Hope Street know all too well the feelings of isolation desperation and loneliness that can come with suffering from anxiety and depression but also for those who care on a day to day basis for their friends and loved ones.

Our goal is to ensure that everyone who walks through our doors feels welcome and their experience with us provides a sense of belonging, inspiration and hope.

Each week they will hear from others who have been in their position, whose minds have been invaded by the very thoughts they are experiencing but who have come through those times to discover and experience happier times. They will also discover techniques that can help to relieve their mind of stress or anxiety.

We also realise that mental illness doesn't only affect those with poor mental health but those who care for their loved one's on a day to day basis, after all how can you understand how a loved one feels if they can't understand it themselves. Hope Street will give carers the opportunity to be around others experiencing similar situations, feelings and loneliness.

Overall our aim is to ensure anyone who visits Hope Street leaves feeling better when they leave than when they first walked through the door.

PLEASE NOTE: We don't have any trainers or training providers affiliated with Hope St. We offer all of our courses free of charge at present.

Schools understand the need to make happiness and wellbeing a priority. The challenge, however, is putting it into practice with teachers who are already overwhelmed. This is why we exist. To make the mental health of children as important as their academic achievement. And to support those making it happen.

We started in 2013 with 1 Magical Day Out for 10 children. In 2020 we pivoted to meet an unprecedented need for online resources for children being home-schooled. We now help 1000s of children with our activities and programme.

Imkaan is a UK-based, Black feminist organisation. We are the only national second-tier women’s organisation dedicated to addressing violence against Black and minoritised women and girls i.e. women and girls which are defined in policy terms as Black and ‘Minority Ethnic’ (BME). The organisation holds nearly two decades of experience of working around issues such as domestic violence, forced marriage and ‘honour-based’ violence. We work at local, national and international level, and in partnership with a range of organisations, to improve policy and practice responses to Black and minoritised women and girls. Imkaan works with its members to represent the expertise and perspectives of frontline, specialist and dedicated Black and minoritised women’s organisations that work to prevent and respond to violence against women and girls. Imkaan delivers a unique package of support which includes: quality assurance; accredited training and peer education; sustainability support to frontline Black and minoritised organisations; and facilitation of space for community engagement and development. Our research activities support the ongoing development of a robust evidence base around the needs and aspirations of Black and minoritised women and girls, as well as promising practice approaches to addressing violence. Imkaan is at the forefront of programmes and initiatives relating to forms of violence that disproportionately affect Black and minoritised women and girls.

Our Objectives:

• To provide inspiring participatory theatre programs enabling people to reach their potential and prevent exclusion and social isolation.

Impetus transforms the lives of young people from disadvantaged backgrounds by ensuring they get the right support to succeed in school, in work and in life. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds have done worse at school and work for decades. But, with the right support, every young person can succeed. We’ve developed a new approach to get them that support.

We are a driving force behind great charities, helping them deliver the right support to more young people. We find what works by combining the lessons from our charities with our own research.

We share this learning to influence policy and resources so that all young people get the support they need.

Perfect for individuals in or exiting custody, care or the armed forces, those in support groups and vulnerable individuals. “It’s time we had a specialised smart phone service to help our people. That’s why we’ve designed a mobile phone range aimed specifically for prisoners and their families at an affordable cost: £24.99 which includes:

• the phone device

• a £10 bundle

• 4 free numbers should user run out of credit

These 4 free emergency numbers could include Probation, Support worker, Key Workers, Carers or family member.  As a returning citizen myself I know how vital this mobile service would be to prisons, probations, young people’s care homes, Veterans, homeless etc. to keep them in contact while on licence or isolated - especially with the difficulties they’ll face when released into a Covid-19 world. And as we run the network, we can even identify the subscriber with their name such as HMP Prison name.

Software features which work only with this mobile service: https://icmobile.co.uk/monqi

• Live Location Tracking & Geo-fence Alert

• 4 Free Call numbers for emergency use when credit is used

• Pre Block Numbers, Approve contacts & View Call log

• App Control, Remove all Social Media Sites from our Devices at any time

By bringing a diverse range of employee volunteers into the learning environment, we provide young people with employability skills, prepare them for the world of work and give them access to a world of choices and opportunities that may otherwise have remained out of reach. Inspire! works in partnership with local and City businesses and their employee volunteers to achieve this goal. We also run programmes to re-engage young people struggling to access mainstream education, both within local schools and through our own Inspired Directions School.

Inspired Futures was created to develop as a charity organisation focused on young people, the progress of their education and life opportunities. Our focus also includes the improvement of their local communities and the general population, through core principles, positive values and experience – an integral part of our service delivery.

Inspired Futures began as a voluntary organisation in 2016 supporting our local communities and from an outpour of requests made by young people who have been inspired by our staff and volunteers.

Our Staff has delivered personal development programmes, engagement projects, mentoring, youth advocacy and events across London and the world to support young people, adults, families and communities.

Inspired Futures focus and aim is for all members of a community, organisations, corporate and small businesses, education institutions, front line services, Local and National Government – to come together using various strategies to improve the lives and opportunities of our young for a brighter future, where every individual is valued and considered.

Our personalised programmes are created using our extensive knowledge, skills and experience in corporate and charitable sectors. Inspired Futures also collaborates with influential organisations/persons to help achieve our vision to inspire young minds, lives and communities. An example of one of their projects is ‘The Plain and Simple Truth’ – a cohesion project to be delivered to young people in various schools and includes a thought provoking talk by trained and experienced facilitators to colleges, PRUs and educational provisions across Greater London.

Young people aspire to be what they see around them in their everyday life but it’s difficult to aspire to a future that you never see and don’t know exists. Inspiring The Future changes this.

We believe that every young person can be whatever they want to be – wherever they live, whatever their parents do, whichever school they attend and however they identify themselves.

We show young people exciting futures. We give them the opportunity to meet face-to-face a wide range of role models doing interesting, exciting jobs to inspire and motivate them. And we help them to understand that by aiming high, working hard and making an effort in school or college they can realise their dreams. How do we do it?  Using our online match-making platform, we connect schools and colleges with appropriate volunteers from a range of sectors and professions that match their particular requirements.

Intermission Youth helps to transform disadvantaged young people living in deprivation and experiencing high levels of anti-social behaviour, family breakdown, dependency and criminality. We believe that constant support, nurture and care in a young person's life can give them the confidence and believe to make positive choices and change the course of their lives. Intermission Youth Theatre was set up in 2008 when actor Darren Raymond was asked to become Artistic Director.

But the story actually started four years earlier, when Darren discovered Shakespeare's Othello. Here was a character he recognised. Someone, like him, who was vulnerable, isolated, who needed to belong, to find out who he was. Someone who was black.

The combination of Shakespeare's Othello and Darren being given a second chance by two strangers who believed in him, ignited in him a passion to do the same for others. To make a positive difference in the lives of young people. To raise their self-esteem and aspirations through the power of drama, theatre and Shakespeare. Why Shakespeare? Because the issues he wrote about 400 years ago remain as relevant to young people today: knife crime, gang warfare, postcode rivalry, rage, jealousy, betrayal.

Darren was invited to set up Intermission Youth Theatre at a theatre church in the heart of Knightsbridge, London, established by Bishop Rob and Janine Gillion as a safe, reflective and creative space for arts.

Starting with just 4 young people, IYT has seen more than one hundred and fifty 16-25 year olds from different nationalities, faiths and London boroughs take part in the 10-month Youth Theatre programme over the past eleven years.

The Youth Theatre has helped them grow in confidence and raise their aspirations, enabling them to apply to university, set up their own business and seek new job opportunities.

Many graduates have gone on to study at leading drama schools and performed with major national theatre companies including Shakespeare's Globe, the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), as well as in TV, commercials and films.

In 2013 our community programme was established, taking our work into schools, pupil referral units, youth offenders teams and young offenders institutions. Since then, we've engaged with well over 7,000 young people across the UK. The team is made up of IYT graduates and current members who lead drama, theatre games and peer-to-peer conversations and workshops.

Due to the expansion of our programme, Intermission Youth has been established as an independent charitable company.

IntoUniversity has been working at the heart of communities since 2002, and now operates 41 learning centres in 24 UK towns and cities. We have ambitious plans to expand to 50 centres by 2027 and work with thousands more young people in need of our support. In every location we bring about positive, measurable change. Common Law used against common people that makes no common sense. We are a grassroots campaign, run by volunteers. As with all grassroots campaigns the work behind opposing the might of the legal establishment has been an uphill battle. It was a role taken on mainly by women (mothers, sisters, aunties and cousins but also heartbroken dads and uncles) who will not rest while their loved ones are serving mandatory life sentences for crimes committed by others. JENGbA was created by the legal establishment, it was not a campaign that came out of nowhere; it was precisely because the use of joint Enterprise was unjust, unfair and discriminatory towards working class and BAME communities that we were forced to form JENGbA. From our kitchens and meeting rooms we have focused tirelessly on this campaign.

Jags Connect is an online self-help community for parents, carers and teachers affected by serious youth violence.

We were born from one family's loss but have grown to support all families in search of brighter futures. We believe in empowering parents, carers, and supporters as they lead our children to safer lives.

We aim to support the local community to dramatically reduce youth violence in South London by 2030.

We aim to do this by:
1. Providing trustworthy information on youth violence for parents, carers and teachers.
2. Building a thriving ecosystem of organisations combating youth violence.
3. Signposting at-risk youth away from harm's way.

We do this by providing:
1. Consolidating resources.
2. An online community forum enabling inter-community support.
3. Early interventions, empowering parents, carers and teachers to recognise the signs and intervene before the incident occurs.
4. Advice and support from a range of partners and community teams.

They have recently been awarded £30,000 for their ‘Aim Higher’ – a project to steer at-risk youth away from gang culture, knife and gun crime, through workshops augmented by sports programs.

“The Jason Roberts Foundation (JRF) was established in 2007 by the former professional footballer, media personality and social activist Jason Roberts as a means to put something back into the community he came from, and to underpin his belief in equal opportunities, rights and representation for individuals regardless of background or circumstance.”

Initially focusing on the Stonebridge Estate in the London Borough of Brent, where Jason grew up, and in Grenada, where his family originate from and for whom he played as an international footballer, the Foundation originally focused on football based social inclusion projects – projects that offered participation and playing opportunities to young people who otherwise had little chance of accessing coaching or opportunities to progress as players. In 2014 the Foundation underwent a significant review of its activities, restructured its organisational management and has since implemented a comprehensive national programme in the UK, offering grass roots projects across London and the South West of England for young people living in disadvantaged neighbourhoods. JRF has also developed accredited training packages in Equality and Diversity Awareness as well as sporting qualifications that are delivered across the country…”.
