The Camden Young People's Mediation and Restorative Service is an independent and neutral service that provides holistic, voluntary support by creating a safe space to discuss issues in challenging times. This supports young people to:

(1) Rebuild a better relationship with their parent or carer
(2) Prevent breakdown in their current accommodation
(3) Prevent the risk and threat of homelessness
(4) Discuss issues that may be affecting their mental health, lifestyle, feelings and/or behaviours.

All referrals to the Camden Young People's Mediation and Restorative Service are obtained from the Camden Children's Social Services Team or from the young person's allocated Social Worker or Personal Adviser.~

In our mediation work, we work one-to-one with young people and their family members, to build positive communication within the family environment. This aims to prevent homelessness or a breakdown in the relationship.

In our restorative work, we work with young people who are looked after or accommodated by the Local Authority to resolve conflict and prevent placement breakdown, for example following physical or verbal altercations with staff, other professionals, and/or other young people at the service.

We have been experts in the field of loneliness and connection since 2011. Our vision is that everyone can live a life free from chronic loneliness.

Chronic loneliness affects people of all ages and backgrounds and touches the lives of millions. It causes real emotional pain and can impact our physical and mental health. It also has an economic cost in the additional health and care services that are needed by people who are lonely, and the missed contributions that people who are unable to connect could make in their communities.

Our work always puts loneliness first. This exclusive focus allows us to maintain a depth of understanding on loneliness and how it relates to other issues.

Cardboard Citizens aims to create space for people in society through engaging & unlocking the life changing and unlimited possibilities of theatre and art. We do it with a conscious heart, soul & brain for, with and by the people that don't feel like they have a home because of lived experience of homelessness, poverty, or societal inequity. We engage deeply and creatively with the injustices of our society, and we invite everyone to play a part.

Cardboard Citizens creates work with and for people who experience homelessness, inequity, or poverty. We provide theatre/art/training that explores, interrogates, and challenges the injustices that are most alive in our world. We believe that theatre and art can transform, that it can challenge the individual to grow and ignite a fire in the belly of wider society to change.

Through our programmes we build networks with employers, educators, and volunteers across the UK to give young people the career support, experiences, and insights they need to kickstart their futures. Each programme is mapped to specific learning outcomes, enabling young people to develop the skills, confidence, and aspirations needed for future career success. As a social mobility charity, we support young people who potentially face the most barriers in education and employment, and whose talents often go overlooked and undiscovered. We measure the impact of our programmes using a set of outcomes designed in partnership with employers and educators, mapped to the level and intensity of each programme. In 2020 a process of reimagining began - reimagining the way we support prison leavers, reimagining church communities, reimagining the transformation of society.

We are all made in the image of God. Through the Bridge Programme we aim to encourage and empower people leaving prison to explore and grow in their Christian faith and character, and connect into church communities for ongoing support.

Carneys community  is inspired by Mick Carney, the boxing legend who motivated and turned around many lives through engagement with boxing.

Mick introduced youth worker George Turner to boxing coach Mark Reigate and together they founded Carney's Community in 2011. Our services are targeted at disadvantaged young people aged 11 to 30 who come from deprived backgrounds in Wandsworth, Lambeth, and the surrounding areas. The mentoring that Carney's Community offers is unique. Many of our beneficiaries report being passed between different agencies which can lead to young people feeling frustrated, and disengaged from support services. At Carney's Community, a young person builds a trusting relationship with a single consistent person; this relationship lasts as long as the young person needs, and the mentoring is taken up by the young person when they want it and are motivated to make changes in their lives.

The Cassandra Centre is a registered domestic violence and abuse charity based in Norbury, London SW16, that provides advice, support and counselling services for young people.  The charity was set up in 2007 after the tragic murder of Cassandra McDermott by her ex-boyfriend. Cassandra was only 19 years old. The charity aims to raise awareness and educate both young men and women about the risks and signs of domestic violence and abuse and to offer them much needed support and assistance.  Our services include, for example, engagement activities; building trust; confidence and self-esteem and we offer one-to-one therapy that addresses complex emotional barriers.  We accept referrals from all London boroughs and the City of London, because we feel that domestic violence and abuse cannot be addressed in isolation, as there are a range of sometimes complicated factors that need to be considered, so that our clients can achieve long-term independence.

At Music To My Ears, we take an innovative and creative approach to service delivery. We encourage and facilitate young people's engagement with making music, making films, photography, creative writing and other creative arts. This allows young people to talk about their experiences and feelings in an innovative way as well as engaging them in a positive hobby.

Young people are taught creative skills to help them build resilience. This can range from making a positive playlist for the times they are feeling low, right through to making films about their place in the community.

Catch On is a free educational resource about Child Exploitation aimed at pupils in Years 7 and 8 (aged 11-13). The resource contains a suite of options for a single lesson or series of lessons exploring the topic of grooming and exploitation. The resource has been written by a team of frontline practitioners and a curriculum lead from one of our Catch22 schools. The aim is to make children aware of child exploitation, empower them to recognise the warning signs, and know where to go to get help if they or their friends are targeted.

Catch On is completely free to download and use. We have placed no restrictions on it because we want it to be used as widely as possible to protect children and to inform parents and professionals.

Our vision is a strong society where everyone has good people around them, a purpose, and a good place to live. In 2017/18 we supported 64,741 people through our 123 services all over the UK.  Our 1,689 colleagues were supported in their vital work by 122 volunteers.  We’ve been a charity for 200 years. Today we work across children’s social care, deliver alternative education, get people into work through apprenticeships and employability programmes, build stronger communities through social action, and deliver social justice and rehabilitation services (in prisons and in the community). But we don’t just stop at changing lives on the frontline. We take any surplus and the learning from our delivery, and funnel that into public service reform – investing in new structures and programmes that do things differently and change the system for good. Catch22 changes lives by delivering frontline public services. We then take our experience and the surplus made from delivery, and reinvest it in piloting new ways of doing things. We deliver services for young people, families and adults, across justice, social action, education and into employment. Our strong frontline delivery expertise not only changes lives but, gives us direct insight into how the system is working and what needs to change. In 2021 Community Links merged with Catch22.

We invest in new ideas that will improve outcomes for our service users. We deliver reform through our existing services, in partnership with others and by building new organisations. Catch22’s Review of the Year 2019 is a statement of our social impact and a snapshot of what we’ve achieved.

It demonstrates the impact Catch22 is having on people’s lives up and down the country.

Deep Listening, as developed by Pauline Oliveros, explores the difference between the involuntary nature of hearing and the voluntary, selective nature of listening. The practice includes bodywork, sonic meditations, and interactive performance, as well as listening to the sounds of daily life, nature, one's own thoughts, imagination, and dreams. It cultivates a heightened awareness of the sonic environment, both external and internal, and promotes experimentation, improvisation, collaboration, playfulness, and other creative skills vital to personal and community growth.

Deep Listening® is a practice developed by pioneering composer Pauline Oliveros to enhance and expand listening abilities and to encourage creative work. In three sessions, over a two-week period, this course offers an experiential introduction to Deep Listening through collaborative and individual explorations in Sound, Dreaming, and Movement. The Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood offers links to wide resources to support early years.

They focus on researching, campaigning and collaborating to raise awareness of and action on the transformative impact of early childhood. In our latest report we have identified six practical areas where wider society has a role to play in harnessing this opportunity:

Our early childhoods, the time from pregnancy to five, fundamentally shape our whole lives. Through research, campaigns and collaboration we are working to change the way we think and act on the early years so that together we can build a happier, healthier, more nurturing world.

We believe that tackling the toughest challenges in early childhood and achieving the biggest, long-term impact requires people coming together. We will collaborate with people from across the private, public and voluntary sectors and all walks of life to make positive change.

If you would like to support parents and carers with young children, there are many different volunteering opportunities available, for example:

'Family Line' supports parents and carers via telephone calls, emails and text messages. FamilyLine Volunteers are the first point of contact for those accessing the service and provide a range of support directly.

'Home Start' offers a range of support to families including home visiting and digital befriending.

'Young Minds Parent Help line' volunteers provide support to parents and carers worried about the mental health or emotional wellbeing of a child or young person from the ages of 0-25.

'Baby Banks' provide essentials, including clothing, equipment and toys, to families with babies and young children in need of help. You can find a local baby bank to support here.

'Squirrels is the Scouts' programme tailor-made for 4 and 5 year olds. It is designed to help early years children learn essential skills for life and is open to volunteers across the UK.

CYP Now #Chances4Children campaign is giving practitioners, teams and leaders a platform to share the innovative, collaborative and heroic work that is taking place every day to improve the lives of children, young people and families.

Children have been largely spared the devastating health effects of Covid-19. Yet, the pandemic lockdown has disrupted many aspects of children’s lives, from school closures to rising food poverty. The trauma and isolation it has caused could have damaging effects on their wellbeing and life chances for years to come. The pandemic is hitting disadvantaged children the hardest, with analysis suggesting the crisis could wipe out a decade of gains in narrowing the attainment gap. CYP Now #Chances4Children campaign aims to:

• Raise awareness of issues that prevent children and young people reaching their potential

• Champion practice and initiatives to tackle issues from which others can learn

• Support children’s sector leaders in their work to support vulnerable groups

• Provide a platform for children and young people to share their hopes and aspirations

• Ensure the needs of disadvantaged children remain at the forefront of policymakers’ post-pandemic recovery plans.

CTIB drives commitment by each church and denomination to deepen its fellowship with the others and, without losing what makes each interestingly different, to work with them towards a greater visible unity.

To help the churches live as Churches Together, a number of small organisations have been created to ease their way. There is one in almost every town or community to help them to work together locally. There are others in the regions and for each of the four nations of Wales, Scotland, Ireland and England. And there is Churches Together in Britain and Ireland.

Many areas of work are best tackled for Britain and Ireland as a whole, rather than in the separate nations. It is also important for those  involved in similar activities in different parts of Britain and Ireland to keep in touch even when working separately. Churches Together in Britain and Ireland is the instrument that facilitates that process.

Citizens UK organises communities to act together for power, social justice and the common good.

We are the home of community organising in the UK. Our diverse member organisations include schools, churches, mosques, synagogues, parents groups, health practices, charities and trade unions.

We help these members to develop leaders, so they can participate in public life and hold politicians and other decision-makers to account on the issues that matter to them.

Community organising is democracy in action: winning victories that change lives and transform communities.

Our vision is for a healthy democracy with civil society at its heart.

Community Organising is based on the principle that when people work together they have the power to change their neighbourhoods, cities, and ultimately the country for the better. We work with people who want to transform the world, from what it is to what they believe it should be. To do this we listen to our members, asking them about their concerns and developing strategies to improve our communities. We ensure that civil society is at the negotiating table alongside the market and state, so that our communities are included in the decisions that affect them.

Imagine a society where everyone reaches their full potential. Where the future is not defined by the past or determined by the place a person starts.

Based in East London, we are a charity working with young people, women and families to give them the skills, experience and qualifications they need to achieve their ambitions. And through what we do, we help change society.

Clean Break uses theatre to keep the subject of women in prison on the cultural radar, helping to reveal the damage caused by the failures of the criminal justice system. Through our unique work, we raise difficult questions, inspire debate, and help to effect profound and positive change in the lives of women with experience of the criminal justice system.

Since 1979, Clean Break has been the only women’s theatre company of its kind, and we continue to inspire playwrights and captivate audiences with our ground-breaking plays on the complex theme of women and crime.

Through theatre workshops and projects in prisons and in the community, which build confidence, resilience and wellbeing, we transform the lives of women who have experienced the criminal justice system or who are at risk of entering it.

Our mission is to improve individual lives and contribute to safer communities, by providing employment opportunities for people with convictions to enable them to reach their full potential. We work in direct partnership with prisons around the country – public and private. Our offer is simple and effective. We can support ex-offenders into work anywhere in the country, via our national Employers Directory. Our partner prisons can offer work-ready residents the opportunity to become Clean Sheet Members, by completing our Membership Module. We give our partner prisons monthly statistical feedback on their former residents’ progress, as we share a common aim; to break the destructive and expensive cycle of reoffending. Our partners in the community already support people with convictions in other aspects of their life, such as housing. Once their clients are work-ready, they are referred to us to become Clean Sheet Members.

We help close skills gaps by connecting underrepresented talent to skills-based job postings. Most people have a bad experience with recruitment. And we were no different.

Like most people, we experienced barriers to entry and exclusion in the job market. That's why we created a new hiring process that gives everyone a greater opportunity to demonstrate their talent and get interviews in an equitable and accessible environment. Our diverse team of technologists, recruiters and psychologists are developing the Clu Inclusive Recruitment Platform™ that will see organisations change the way they look at and value talent.

Everyone deserves to feel valued, included and set up for success in the hiring process. And we won't stop until we achieve that reality.

The aim of CAV is to address the causes of violence, with a community voice, joined-up thinking and through evidence-based priorities that influence policies, actions and support projects that really work by:

1. Articulating and promoting the needs and aspirations of the local community in relation to stopping group and gang violence

2. Influencing both strategically and operationally, the Police, Haringey Council (and other Local Authorities) Statutory, Community Partners and other concerned groups in relation to stopping group and gang violence

3. Engaging community, voluntary and statutory partners in developing a collective offer of support to help stop group and gang violence

4. Developing projects and accessing funding to deliver activities which will lead to a reduction and stoppage of violence.

Community Bridges is a non-profit organisation building positive communities that nurture health and wellbeing. Signposting and storytelling on our website, podcast and social channels help our community check in quickly and regularly with their wellbeing and take care of themselves. We map organisations and bring you the health stories, tips and services you need to care for yourself.

Everyone experiences challenges with their health and wellbeing, and it can be hard to fit self-care into your day. Living with a health condition is common: 30% of the UK population live with one or more. So is living without sufficient meaningful connection: 45% of adults feel lonely sometimes or often in England. Loneliness and disconnection both cause and worsen health conditions. Disconnected communities cost £32 billion every year. GP's can not solve loneliness and disconnection. The community we live in and the behaviours we engage with every day can. We must develop supportive environments and connected communities, so everyone has the tools to work towards better health.

• A more successful community response in managing the complexity of youth violence.

• A shared and collective approach to stopping the issue from increasing.

• Increased support for those involved or affected by youth violence.

Compassionate Mental Health is working with a network of people across the UK and internationally to transform mental health services, and radically change the conversation around mental illness.

OUR VISION is of a world where more people recover after a serious mental health crisis, and people have access to a range of compassionate services to help develop positive mental health and wellbeing.

OUR MISSION is to be a beacon for those going through tough times, and to work with a network of people and places across the UK and internationally to transform mental health services, and radically change the way we talk about and treat mental illness.

OUR APPROACH is to work with a range of partners across the UK and globally to call for a more integrative approach to mental health – one that relies less on diagnosis and psychiatric drugs, and more on empowering the person, communities and social networks. Our activities are shaped by a belief that recovery after a mental health crisis is possible, and that good mental wellbeing can be achieved by strengthening and empowering communities, activating social networks, and providing access to inspiring opportunities and education.

Our mission is to engage and inform children and young people to provide them with choices supporting their individual learning and personal development.

We provide a safe, caring, youth-led space for disadvantaged young people where they can learn, develop and build towards a brighter future. Having started out 20 years ago as a grassroots local effort to tackle problems faced and expressed by local children and young people, we have developed into an established local charity with a strong track record, supported by a number of long-term funders. Most of our beneficiaries come from the Caledonian and Barnsbury ward. This area contains six pockets of poverty (Super Output Areas) which are amongst the 20% most deprived areas nationally and are sandwiched between the new Kings Cross Central Development and the leafy roads of Barnsbury. We are currently working with approximately 170 young people.

We're an award-winning social enterprise training at-risk young people to repair cracked iPhones as an entrepreneurial route away from gangs, crime and anti-social behaviour. We engage young people with enterprise to support them to realise their potential, take responsibility, and make their first steps towards employment. We do this by harnessing the alluring elements of gang culture - income, belonging and self worth - and positively incorporating these into our programmes. In this way, we're able to illuminate enterprise as a credible route away from crime and into work. There are too many young people in our society who feel pushed into crime to provide for their families. It's because our system is broken. This crime can become violent. Knife crime offences resulting in injury have increased by 22% in the last year, and 85% of violent offenders are aged between 16 and 29. These young people are 4 times more likely to be victims of crime. Trapped young people need credible options and a way out.

Create Streets exists to help solve the housing crisis and to help neighbourhood, communities, landowners, councils and developers create and manage beautiful, sustainable places of gentle density that will be popular, are likely to be correlated with good wellbeing and public health outcomes and which are likely to prove good long term investments based on the historical data of value appreciation and maintenance costs.

Our goal is to make it easier to co-create beautiful, sustainable, prosperous, economically and socially successful places with strong local support and which residents will love for generations. Our objective is to greatly increase the number of people in prison studying Further and Higher Education.

DWRM works with universities to offer a much wider range of degree courses than are currently available to students in prison. We focus on the provision of study materials, tuition and greater participation in a learning community so as to properly engage students.

As there is currently very limited support for prisoners on release, this tends to mean students are unable to complete their course or sit the required exams. Such students become disillusioned and often lost in terms of continuing with their education. We intend to bridge that gap by providing post release support to enable students to attend university campus to complete their degree.

Although our initial focus is on Higher Education, we plan to adopt a flexible provision which will incorporate Further Education and Apprenticeships. This option to "earn while you learn" is highly suited to people leaving prison and we are keen to promote this progressive opportunity, with the support of appropriate partners.

We are supporting young adult males, aged 18-25, who are on probation and require support addressing their dependency issues working towards recovery.

Over several weeks, service users will complete one-to-one sessions, attend groups, complete workbooks and, if necessary, attend other professional appointments with their Recovery Practitioner. These activities will aim to address their substance misuse issues but can include sessions on improving their wellbeing and motivation. Through a close working relationship with their Recovery Practitioner, they will be encouraged to engage positively in their communities, make positive lifestyle changes and focus on their future goals.

Our service users work with a Recovery Practitioner who will make sure they are accessing the appropriate dependency and substance misuse treatment while providing additional support and?guidance towards their recovery.

Our service is designed to consider the challenges young adults face and work towards building their resistance to peer influence, developing their self-sufficiency, and increasing their ability to focus on their future goals.? Our approach aims to meet the needs of those service users whose dependency on substances often co-occur alongside other mental illnesses and other complex needs.

Our service operates across London with Recovery Practitioners based in several offices across the city.

We have been providing opportunities through activities for young people from our current location since 1970.  Over the years some of the activities provided have changed considerably. A gym, recording studio and radio room are located on the lower ground floor. The ground floor houses a fit-for-purpose kitchen, social areas, a computer suite and art room. The first floor offers a large gymnasium and a smaller rehearsal space, while some office space is located on the second floor. There is an enclosed basketball court on the roof.

Our History

In 1884, Jocelyn Devas, a graduate of University College Oxford started a 'Club for working lads' in a room over a coffee tavern in  Stewarts Road, Battersea. Two years later in 1886, Jocelyn was tragically killed in a climbing accident in Zermatt. Jocelyn's Father enlisted the help of his Son's friends, and funded an initiative to carry on the work that Jocelyn had started in Battersea.
Historically, the main purpose of the Club's work was initially educational, before sporting activities began to take precedence in the clubs programme. The work of the charity has evolved over the years and had traditionally measured our impact by seeking to address three challenges; "Apathy" - we will develop activities for everyone, "Low Expectations"  - we provide good standard of activities and recognise achievement and"Improve Expertise & Excellence" - through collaboration and our work with Wandsworth youth workers.
Fast forward to today, as we continually develop our work, the overall goal of the charity is to improve the lives of young people so that we build their confidence, tackle mental health issues and improve their wellbeing. By engaging the broader community, the young people we work with feel part of that community. A Community Café and lunch club is often run once a week, and local youth groups and community organisations regularly hire space.

One of the goals of our target group is to secure gainful employment on release from prison, which will enable them to successfully settle back into society, with a greater sense of confidence and self-esteem. We seek to address this by taking people from an unqualified position to achieving a respected qualification that will create new career opportunities and contribute to lower re-offending rates.

Our purpose at Down Tools is to create more awareness about knife crime, causes, risks and consequences. We want to educate our youth on the effects of carrying knives and how serious it can become.

We provide a learning platform along with guidance on how schools can use it. The content ensures that children become stimulated and remain engaged.

The platform presents information in a format that children can relate to and reinforces the facts surrounding knife crime, including the reasons people carry knifes, how quickly both the life of the perpetrator and victim can change for ever and the lasting effects of those left behind.

At Down Tools, we believe in a preventative approach, one that educates children and allows them to make informed choices and rebuff knife crime.

We are working alongside many charities across the UK who share our common values.

The services offered are designed to steer at-risk youth away from gang-culture, knife crime and gun violence, and encourage them to see that there is a future.
The skills that the children learn at boxing encourage them to commit to something outside of their school from a young age. This learnt behaviour is imperative to their growth to ensure that they stay dedicated to studies, work and to avoid the temptations of gang culture.

The boxing coaches are mentors, teachers and friends of each of these children ensuring that they instil a work ethic in each individual before they can graduate from the boxing course.

Dwaynamics is a beacon of light for young people, families and the community.

"I believe in community, and the ability of art to bring people together, to educate, to enlighten or just open up avenues that allow everyone to let their hair down or up, and express without fear. This is why I give my time freely to engage in workshops that do exactly that, especially where it concerns the under privileged"
"I like to collaborate on a good project, one that requires improvisation, imagination and risk. I have partaken in a few exciting projects and I have consistently left each situation with an expanded mind and a smiling heart"

The Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) is dedicated to breaking the link between family income and educational achievement. The EEF isn’t just a grant-funder, nor just a research organisation. What we are is a charity with a moral imperative – to support teachers and senior leaders to raise attainment and close the disadvantage gap – which roots its response to this educational challenge in the best available evidence.

We aim to:

• raise the attainment of 3-18 year-olds, particularly those facing disadvantage;

• develop their essential life skills; and

• prepare young people for the world of work and further study.

We do this by:

summarising the best available evidence in plain language for busy, time-poor teachers and senior leaders. Our Teaching and Learning Toolkit is now used by 70% of secondary schools.

generating new evidence of ‘what works’ to improve teaching and learning, funding independent evaluations of high-potential projects. We’ve tested over 190 high-potential programmes with over 1.3 million children and young people and our most promising programmes have enabled students to make +3 months of additional progress in a year.

supporting teachers and senior leaders across the country in using this evidence to achieve the maximum possible benefit for young people. We work in partnership with a network of 37 Research Schools across the country.

There is something special about seeing a young person overcome the inequality of opportunity or circumstances outside of their control. In each of our students we’re hoping to plant that spark of aspiration, to nurture a sense of hope that they can direct their own future, and to enable them to reach their goals. We want to see a society where no young person is disadvantaged, sidelined or disempowered by the circumstances of their upbringing. Instead, we want to see vulnerable children accessing the same opportunity and carrying the same aspiration as everyone else, so that they can fulfil their potential and enrich and advance our world.

We’re doing this by:

• Building a different kind of teaching community, one made up of resourceful, resilient, caring tutors, who are ceaselessly driven by the profound impact they can have on young lives.

• Enabling these tutors to provide effective, empathetic, life-changing tuition to children living in care and disadvantage.
